We have been busy!
Everybody wants to come to school to learn! This goose was quite adamant that they be allowed in.

These amazing fundraisers were able to: have lunch with an educator and be the librarian for the day! Excellent job!

Mrs. Stott’s grade 6 class actively integrated Math and Science as they plotted the solar system in the main hallway.

The Staff and Students at St. Paul would like to take the opportunity today, to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our Crossing Guards! You are responsible for getting our most valuable asset to us and home safely each day and we can not thank you enough! No matter the weather, if schools are open, you are out there! We want to let you all know, today, that your role is a valuable one! Thank you for what you do!

Today is World Down Syndrome Day!
Every day at St. Paul, we are focused on being a kind, accepting and inclusive community. Today is a day the global Down Syndrome community creates a single voice advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down syndrome. The idea was created because chromosomes are shaped “like socks” and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome.
The theme for for #WDSD2023, is With Us Not For Us.
Today is a day to be intentional in speaking to students about other young people with Down Syndrome and shows the benefits of accepting everyone’s differences.
So wear your brightly coloured socks in support of Down Syndrome Panthers!
They might be mismatched socks or your craziest and most wacky socks, whatever you fancy! The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness of Down Syndrome and accepting of everyone.
A prayer for today:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit….
Today we celebrate Down Syndrome day, and celebrate the students in our schools who have Down Syndrome. Our school is richer for you being an important part of our community. You teach us many lessons, and we thank you for all of the gifts that you generously share with us day in and day out.
Unfortunately, there are people who bully & disrespect others who are more vulnerable. May we commit to calmly and respectfully challenging anyone who is hurting someone who has Down Syndrome.
Loving God, may we celebrate all the students in our school, and in this way work to build a more inclusive and caring world.
As you prepare for school this morning, please be reminded that cars are not allowed in our parking lot. We need to keep our students safe and ask for your help. Please do not drive into our parking lot to drop off your children. Please know that our friends dropping young children off at the YWCA Daycare can access the driveway and have passes they present at entry. This is not a change in past practice, but we need you to be aware, and we ask that you respect this process.
Also, please know that school begins at 8:20 am. We have noticed an increasing number of students coming 5 – 10 minutes late each day. Please do what you can to be on time. This means you are in the school’s backyard in time to join your class’ line as they enter the building.
Lastly, please know that we continue to battle the elements and as always, our schoolyard is very wet and muddy. It would be wise to bring a change of clothing to leave at school in case there is a slip and fall. This will eliminate the need to contact parents and interrupt your day to bring a change of clothing to the school. We ask that students exercise good judgment and avoid very muddy areas, even if the yard is not officially closed for use.
We look forward to seeing all of you this morning and can’t wait to hear what your March Break was like!

Here comes the sun at long last. We are grateful for the opportunity to recharge and reenergize to enjoy the remainder of the school year and finish strong.

“During Lent, let us find concrete ways to overcome our indifference.” ~ Pope Francis
God, thank you for Spring and the hope of warmer, longer, brighter days. Thank you for the coming of growth and life and birth. Thank you that things are coming awake in the world. This is what our calendar says, and we do see some signs that it is real.
