February was a busy month at St Paul, with many events happening. A huge thank you goes out to the many parent volunteers who helped organize and run Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast on February 28th. Without the support of our Parent Council and all of the parents who give their time to the school, we could not have great events such as this. As well, we would like to thank the staff at Giant Tiger for their continued support of programs at St Paul, and in particular for their support with our Pancake Breakfast!
On March 1st the students in grades 1—8 will once again walk to St Francis Church to take part in the Ash Wednesday Mass to begin our Lenten journey together as a faith-filled community. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for this celebration. We are reminded of the great sacrifice of Christ and his love for each one of us. On March 9th, the students in grade 3, 4 and 5 will participate in a Penitential Service with Mrs. Fisher and Fr. Joseph—we are truly blessed to be able to share our Spiritual life with the staff of St Francis Parish.
March promises to be an exciting month for the students at St Paul. Some of our students in the Junior and Intermediate grades will be participating in the Skills Canada Competitions; the Annual Book Fair will take place March 6—8 in the Library Learning Commons; students in grades 3—8 will take part in presentations about Social Media and each Friday will have a different Colour House Theme!
Finally, all parents and guardians are encouraged to complete the Multi Year Strategic Plan Report Card Survey. Let us know how we are doing and help us to shape future plans regarding student learning in the WCDSB. Please go to the Board website (www.wcdsb.ca) for more information.
May God bless all of you and help us to keep a Holy Lent.
