Monthly Theme: BELONGING

Please join us on September 19, 2019, from 5:00 – 6:30 for our Pizza and Meet the Teacher Night. Educators will be in their classrooms from 5:00 – 6:00 to meet families and informally discuss the curriculum for the year. At 6:00 classrooms will be closed and families will be invited to socialize in the gym and blacktop. We will be selling pizza and water on the blacktop for $1 each.

Our Board’s theme for this year is: Called to Belong!  The experience will be facilitated by Fr. Joseph de Viveiros, C.R., the Spiritual Animator for the Board.  Come and discover more about the spiritual journey upon which our staff and students have embarked. All are welcome to come and learn and pray around the awesome mystery of God’s universal love!

You may join us at the location that is most convenient to you.  All retreats begin at 7:00 p.m. and are 2 hours in length. Please sign up at this link:

Thursday, September 26th marks a special day for our students. Once again, we will be celebrating Terry Fox and his tremendous accomplishments by participating in the Terry Fox National School Run. Our entire school will be showing our support by walking in the afternoon, to remember Terry Fox’s dream of raising money for cancer research. Students are encouraged to bring $2.00 or more, to help raise funds for Cancer Research and to carry on Terry Fox’s dream. Last year we raised $1269.00, and our goal is to match that again! So, Panthers please start saving your toonies! With each donation, your child will receive a paper shoe, which will be displayed around the halls of St. Paul School. The top 2 classes that raise the most money will win a free pizza lunch – one class from JK- Gr 3 and one class from Gr 4 – 8!! Remember to wear red that day to show your St. Paul spirit and support! Keep Terry’s spirit and hope alive during the month of September and help us make a difference!

Once again Nutrition for Learning is the charity of choice for our local Tim Horton’s Smile cookie campaign! In Kitchener / Waterloo Nutrition for learning shares the proceeds of smile cookie with Kidsability. At St Paul we rely heavily on the Nutrition for Learning Program to provide added snacks throughout the day for many of our students. KidsAbility has also been an incredible support for many of our families and the early learning needs of their children. Please consider supporting our local charities!

In order to continue to promote environmentally friendly practices St Paul school is a Boomerang Lunch school. This means that all students will take home all items that they bring in their lunches, including plastics and organics. Boomerang lunches promote the first tenet of the 3 Rs  – to Reduce our consumption. To assist with this practice please consider sending lunch items in reusable containers instead of single-use containers. This also has the added benefit of providing students with a container for their organic food waste. A boomerang lunch also provides parents with first hand knowledge of the eating habits and preferences of the child. By bringing home the leftovers you will see what’s been eaten or not. Schools that do not practice Boomerang Lunches see a huge amount of uneaten food go into the garbage day after day. This is not only wasteful but expensive.

When ordering Pizza for your child, please ensure that you are ordering for the proper day/ week.

The week that you are ordering for is in the title of the item. You must order each pizza day separately according to the date in the title of the item. For those who have ordered in advance, please check your receipts to ensure you have ordered for each week separately.

Are you looking for a meaningful way to get involved in your child’s school? School Council works with the St Paul staff to improve student learning. Please join us on September 28th at 6:30 for our first School Council meeting of the year.

We are very proud of our partnership with St Francis Parish. In order to continue to build on this relationship, each week we will be providing our community with a link to access the Church Bulletin so you may keep yourself apprised of the many events at the Parish.
