 PRAYING THROUGH HOLY WEEK

As we enter Holy Week, I share with you a short video that examines prayer and suggests a new way of thinking about prayer during Holy Week – Praying through Holy Week with Fr. Mike

HOLY THURSDAY:

On Thursday morning we will be observing our traditional Bread Service. Students enter the building and their classes silently and respectfully at 8:20 and our service begins immediately with prayer and ending with a sharing of bread, re-enacting the Last Supper. Please ensure your children are on time as this is a very special prayer that we share with each other.

SPRING INTO HEALTH!

Save the date – On May 1st from 6 – 8 pm we will be hosting a family wellness night for students and parents. Some of the topics will be: Building healthy and easy lunches, family fitness, and mental wellness. As well we will have a variety of community resources available during the evening. More details to follow.

FITGO CHALLENGE UPDATE:

Congratulations to our students and staff – we are the Resurrection Family of Schools FITGO Champions! Thanks to the continued emphasis on health and well being at St Paul, our students demonstrated the greatest commitment to healthy living by being active, eating well and practising healthy mental wellness strategies such as meditation and DPA. We will receive a special video presentation at their school put together by SAC students at Resurrection and lead by a special surprise Resurrection guest…. he’s big and he doesn’t fly!

KNOWLEDGEHOOK MATH RESOURCE:

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing a new Math Resource in our classrooms. Knowledgehook, is now a Board approved “Green Tool” which ensures student information is stored in a secure manner.  This online, interactive math resource will support student learning in grades 3-8. Knowledgehook will provide additional math support and instruction for learning both in the classroom and also for differentiated home-practice. If you have any questions or concerns about this program please speak to your child’s classroom teacher.

JK/SK REGISTRATIONcontinues

Attention All Parents of New JK & SK Students! Registration for junior kindergarten (children born in 2014) and new senior kindergarten students (children who have NOT attended JK but were born in 2013) for September 2018 continues. Please contact the Office (519-743-4401)

MATH AT HOME:

It is March Madness time for Basketball fans. Even if your bracket is busted – there are many opportunities to think about Math as you watch the games – analysts regularly talk about team rankings, shooting percentages, points per game, as well as blocks, steals and assists! Here is another math challenge to try during halftime (another math concept!).
