Term 1 Report Cards and Term 2 IEPs

Dear St. Paul Parents/Guardians:

Please know that students who have been doing in-person learning at St. Paul will be bringing home their Term 1 Report Cards today, Friday Feb. 19th. The reports summarize your child’s progress ie. areas of strength, areas for growth and next steps for improvement that will assist your child as s/he continues their learning for the remainder of the school year. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to review the report with their child and then sign and return the parent/student portions of the report card (inside the envelope) to their child’s teacher.

Also, students with an Individual Education Plan will also be receiving their Term 2 IEP to bring home. Parents/guardians are asked to review the IEP and sign the Parent Consultation page and return it to their child’s teacher.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s report and/or IEP, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.

Students attending St. Isidore will have their Term 1 Report Cards delivered to St. Paul next week. Please know that once they have been received, families will be contacted to arrange a time to pick up the report(s) at the school. Week at a Glance – Feb 14 to 19

Hello Panther Families,

Well.. despite the chilly temperatures and several indoor recesses, our return to in-person learning for all of our students and staff this past week was a success!! The halls and classrooms of St. Paul “looked like, sounded like and felt like” school again!

A reminder that tomorrow is Family Day – enjoy your day together!

Family Day Prayer: “Loving, caring, compassionate God, you care for us and love us unconditionally. Continue to guide us and bless our families and the people who are dear to us.”

This coming week, the Liturgical Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on Feb. 17th and ends on Holy Thursday, April 1st. Lent is a time of preparation and reflection –  a time that invites us to grow closer to God through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. For 40 days and 40 nights, we walk together with Jesus. On Wednesday afternoon, we will “come together virtually” and begin our Lenten journey as a school community during our Ash Wednesday Liturgy.

Term 1 Report Cards will be distributed this Friday, Feb. 19th. Your child(ren)’s report card reflects learning that occurred in a modified learning environment as required by provincial and local public health guidelines. The pandemic may have resulted in the need for adaptations to teaching, program/curriculum and/or assessment practices. Ongoing communication with your child(ren)’s teacher(s) will provide additional information pertaining to student progress. This is a time to not only celebrate the achievements of our students, but also to recognize their efforts, grit and perseverance during a very unique school year. The partnership between home and school will continue to offer the support and encouragement needed to navigate through the remaining months of learning.    Let us continue to be “People of Hope”!
